Security

K. Chen describes a firmware hacking technique with major implications for Mac security, including the possibility of secretly logging a user's keystrokes (e.g. online banking passwords and accounts) and transmitting that critical data silently across the Internet. On top of that, the hack remains in place even after a complete system software re-installation, because it can reside in the firmware of an Apple keyboard.
